Community Meetings
Morningside BARC sponsors monthly No Dogs Allowed Nights to provide a regular forum for community discussion and conflict resolution. We’ve met at traveling locations in both Harlem and Morningside Heights, but in warm months we try to meet in the Morningside Dog Run (where of course dogs ARE allowed. They just can’t come for pizza, which we usually all go eat afterwards).
Guests at previous meetings have included:
* Deputy Majority Leader of the NY City Council, Bill Perkins
* The Manhattan managers of the CACC
* Community Board 9 Parks Chair, Carolyn Kent
* Parks District 10 Manager, Tricia Daniel
* Community Affairs and K9 Unit Officers of the NYPD
* And, regularly, our representative from Partnerships for Parks, Nicole Smith
The meetings are designed as open community discussions of anything that affects our daily lives, from conditions in Morningside Park to resolving conflicts within our run community.
